Overview

INTRODUCTION

Spray Tower Scrubber

1- Structure and Operating Principles

Spray Tower Scrubber

Design:

A vertical tower equipped with spray nozzles at different positions to disperse a liquid solution (usually water or an absorbent chemical) into the exhaust gas stream.

Operating Principles:

Exhaust gas enters the tower from the bottom or side.
The absorbent solution is sprayed in the form of fine droplets to interact with the exhaust gas.
Pollutant gases or particles react with the solution and are removed.

Gas Flow Rate:

Low, typically used in applications requiring treatment of exhaust gases with low velocities.

Efficiency:

Suitable for removing easily soluble gases and larger particles.

Advantages:

  • Simple structure, easy to operate.
  • Low investment and maintenance costs.
  • High efficiency with low-velocity gas streams.

Disadvantages:

  • Ineffective for fine dust particles and high-velocity exhaust gases.
  • Requires more installation space.

Applications:

  • Treatment of industrial exhaust gases containing SOx, NOx, or other hazardous gases.
  • Suitable for light industries, such as chemical production and food manufacturing.

2- Summary of Differences:
